Intro to American Indian Studies

Summer 2018

Last Day of School Michael Thompson

School is out for ever, for me at least. The completion of this class marks the end of what I need to graduate. I learned a lot in this class, which was unexpected, because I thought I knew everything.

I was a good WOKE person. When I was 16 I volunteered for the Howard Dean campaign. When I was 21 I joined the Army, and remained an advocate for my liberal ideas. I was one of those NICE white guys who understood racial prejudice. Fuck, my wife is black. I’m as WOKE as WOKE could be.

Well, no. That’s like saying I am the MOST humble person there is. Part of being in the know, means that the more you know, the more you know you don’t know. I enjoyed learning about the modern history of American Indians. Their continued struggle for survival, and the hopes that their children live in a better world.

I am not the most WOKE PERSON EVER! No such person exists. I’m glad I was able to learn MORE. I hope to leave the world a better place than when I left it. This class helped me make a better world.
