Education vs. Advocacy

Assignment Details from Syllabus:

We will divide the class into two teams, prepare for, and debate the merits of education versus education approaches for getting involved in family policy. Each team will have the opportunity to submit questions to be debated ahead of time and to prepare a written
response (i.e. debating notes). The debate is graded pass/fail for participation and the “winning” team will receive 10 points extra credit (assuming I can find impartial judges).

Ways to Use This Page:

Students can use this page to upload their debate notes. This is also a good way to incorporate multimodal communication. Students can upload soundbites of the debate with their reflection on how it went. If video recording is allowed in your classroom, students could also upload video of their part of the debate, with context of what they are learning in the classroom.
