Volunteers

As a city that frequently experiences flooding and other natural disasters, New Orleans is no stranger to volunteer efforts. Websites such as Volunteer New Orleans or VolunteerMatch let potential volunteers plug in their skills and availability to help them find the best volunteer opportunity for their interests.

These organizations were voted to be some of the top volunteer experiences in New Orleans: Latino Farmers’ Co-op, Green Light New Orleans, Edible Schoolyards New Orleans, Habitat for Humanity, New Orleans Adolescent Hospital, and the Green Project. Another top volunteer organization in NOLA is Cafe Reconcile, where part of every food bill helps fund a community project.
