The key to success? Food.

It’s almost Fall! Which means Pumpkin Spice Lattes, leaves changing color, sweater weather, and Career/Internship Fairs. The Greenlee School Jumpstart Internship and Networking Fair took place Sept. 26, which means journalism, public relations and advertising students were busy prepping and perfecting their resumes and elevator speeches in advance.

September 21, from 11 am to 1 pm, a luncheon took place on central campus for students who worked with professors and Career Service employees to improve their resumes and elevator speeches.

Over 100 students reached out for help to get tips about the fair and grab a free lunch with other fair bound students. The turn out was phenomenal and exceeded expectations of students.

“I really enjoyed being able to practice my elevator speech prior to the fair. It helped me feel more confident and prepared. Plus we got a free lunch. It was a win-win situation,” said Jane Doe, a junior in advertising.

The career fair left attending companies highly impressed with the Greenlee school. According to Christa Smith with American Red Cross, the students seemed more confident and prepared, and they definitely have their work cut out for them when it comes to selecting interns and future employees.
