Tayvonn Kyle Week 5 Blog 2

The thing that stood out the most to me this week was the fact that Fixico agreed with the idea of relocation. I’m sure he has a few reasons why he felt like as if it was a good plan, but there’s a bigger picture with several negative details. The Native American people suffered as they were moved from their original communities, and it didn’t even stop there. They were being moved so much that some may have had to move more than one time. In this action, they have to continue to deal with leaving what they know or learned to know only to be exposed to something new and unknown. Venturing out and seeing different things is fine but only at your own will. Them being forced to do so didn’t leave them positively affected. Furthermore, they joined the army to fight in WWII. Some would think this would cause a bond between them and the Americans to keep the Americans from treating them so poorly. This, nevertheless, made it worse. It only gave the Americans more ideas to break down the Native Americans. They began to invite the Native people to live and work with them while their intentions weren’t so good. They started assimilating the Indians. Not long after, the Americans showed that they saw the Native people as communists. This caused the Native Americans to lose jobs, and factories they worked at were closing down.
