Hi! My name is Makayla Maxwell. I am 17 years old. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Other than my mom, dad, brothers, and grandma, I don’t have any other family that lives in Vegas. My mom’s family lives in Philadelphia and Jersey. These states are where I consider my roots to be. My dad’s family resides in most of the Southeastern states but mainly Georgia, Mississippi, and Florida.
I graduated from Rancho High School in May of 2018 and I am now a freshman at Iowa State University. I am also a gymnast on Iowa State’s gymnastics team! I’ve been in gymnastics since the age of 4, but I’ve been in the sport competitively since 2007. My favorite event to train is the balance beam, but my best events are floor and vault.
