The book has been a good introduction in the life of American Indians. What was most surprising to me was how hard it is for Natives to connect to their own culture. The Native experience has been romanticized it’s so hard for them to understand how deal with the problems of today. What I hope to take away from this class is how modern Indians choose to adapt to the 21st century.
