After todays decision we learned about tribal gaming and how the native Americans got the short end of the stick with having to make a deal with the state to split the revenue. They also have to give money to 5 different things before they can even apply to give money back to the community. I think that if they could just the money to better the community and not split it up and give some to the state because giving up to 25% in some cases is really hard for people to stay in business let a lone for people to run a business and support a tribe of thousands of people.
We also talked about Arnold Schwarzenegger and how he was the governor of California and when he heard what was going on with the native Americans and how they did not have to pay taxes on some things. So his plan was to put a big tax on the tax revenue they got from the casinos. When I heard this I thought to myself this is why people need to learn about the native Americans and what they are going through because of the tax was put on them they would not have been able to operate the casinos which would keep money out of the tribal community which would greatly affect everyone.
